Cliffside Heights is an elite boarding school located in the Appalachian Mountain Chain on the North American Continent. It stands on approximately 2000 acres of wilderness.

Originally a hotel for the wealthy, it was converted to a private school around the end of the twentieth century. Since then, it has steadily gained a reputation as one of the best schools in the world. The buildings are a mixture of young and old. The oldest building serves as a dormitory. It is five stories high and contains enough rooms to house 1788 students. Most of the rooms are suites or quads, though there are a few doubles. The rooms are large and spacious, and most feature a wonderful view either onto Lake Champlain or out into the forests. The bottom floor is female, the fourth floor is male, and the other three floors are co-ed.

The school itself is divided into seven large buildings- technology, arts, humanities, science, mathematics, the gymnasium, administration, and one building of classrooms housing unclassified classes. It is set up very much like a university, and many business reguard a degree from Cliffside as a liberal arts associate degree.

The student body is made up of approximately 2000 students. 1788 are housed on campus, while another 250 live in the nearest community (ten miles away) and commute daily. The students are some of the most promising. Many of them have gone onto become foremost experts in their various fields. The teaching staff is top-notch, with a constantly rotating slew of famous names. The salary is generous.

In recent years, Cliffside Heights has had a predominantly female enrollment, but that changed when the war ended, and over 400 new students entered who had prior military experience. Most of these are former Federation soldiers, though there are a few ex-Oz soldiers as well. This creates an air of tension, and many students wait uneasily for what they see as an inevitable explosion.

No Colonials attend the school- which is probably just as well. Imagine what throwing White Fang into the mix could do. No one is aware of the presence of a former Gundam Pilot in their midst.
