OUR SITE AND OUR LOGO The origins of our name are explained on the About Us page. The webpage was actually started in January 2001, so it's about a year old now. It's gone through many different layouts, but it was only recently that we decided to try something more adventurous. Past layouts of MR.org have always featured Tenjou Utena from Shoujo Kakumei Utena, which technically made sense because of the "revolutionary" theme. However, not all of us have seen Utena, and even those who have wanted this site to focus a little less on the anime portion of our interests and to represent all of us as a whole. So what to do? Mearl Dox and Gerald Tarrant got the bright idea of making a logo for the site that was non-anime related but would get our point across, and Laurelgand put all their ideas together in a pencil drawing. The logo was done using Photoshop 6.0. The logo tries to incorporate the sense of a classical theme while keeping a kind of modern feel. The whole image is based around a sun, with a moon in the bottom half and Roman numerals and a clock face set above the whole thing. The clock and the sun/moon represent the "midnight" part of the name. The gears are there because they look cool. The sun is shown splitting to reveal a globe underneath. Mearl suggested this, in keeping with our Utena theme, "break the world's shell!" And of course, "Midnight Revolution" set at the top in curved letters.
