Fanfiction 101: Miscellaneous Tips

Nuriko Nuriko:

As for general advice... stick to what you enjoy, because if you write a fic based on someone else's preferences, you'll almost always wind up resenting it. This leads to unfinished fics and highly unhappy readers.

Tasuki Tasuki:

As listed by the Author Quicksilver, on her FY Fanfic Index, there are do's and dont's. And I agree with them. I suppose, in the end, fanfiction is for your own enjoyment and all. But if yah want to share them, think of who will be reading your fic, and try to write accordingly. What would a reader want to see? That should be the first thought in your head. Then just let the characters go.

Mitsukake Mitsukake:

Try -hard- to give the characters real emotions. Make them LIVE before you start writing them. After all, how can someone write about something they know nothing of?

Chiriko Chiriko:

Any other advice? Plenty.

But I won't.... no one EVER listens to what the cute l'il kid has to say!

But one last thing- where are all the Chiriko fics? I mean, REALLY... of all the Seishi, I have the least background, and no one.... *is cut off as a cloth is stuffed in his mouth by Tasuki*

Hotohori Hotohori:

I have advice. Make characters more life like, and not invincible. It makes fan fiction boring. Also, more Hotohori fan fics would be nice. ^_^

*looks in the mirror again and does different poses*

Chichiri Chichiri:

Oh, just have fun no da! Remember that's why we write in the first place. That and we don't want the series to end. Of course I don't else I'd be out of a job na no da!

Tamahome Tamahome:

But also, write what you want to. If this insane idea strikes you in your dreams, write it!
