Where to get ideas for fics Where do I get ideas? Well, I write a lot of crossovers with movies and books, so the ideas are already there. I also ask my friends for ideas. If an idea strikes you, anything, just write it down! Beginning a fic (plot outlines, research, etc.) Then, when you want to begin your fic (and I pull a 10 transition) you can look at your notes and pick an idea. To begin, I usually outline the way I want the story to go. I pick who I want in it, what main things I want to happen and things like that. If I want a really good beginning, I usually skip it. I write something really stupid, then go back to it later. "Cures" for writer's block This brings me to "cures" of writers block (and another 10 transition). There are none!! BWHAHAHAH!! Actually, if you just leave it alone it'll come to you. I floss my teeth when I can't think of anything. Also, I go pick a fight with Tasuki. I get thinking time while fighting, and even more thinking time while I'm being patched up! Resources and other helpful hints I think that the easiest fics to write are songfics. So, if you're just starting out, I would recommend writing a songfic. Miscellaneous Tips But also, write what you want to. If this insane idea strikes you in your dreams, write it!
